This is a Memorial created in honour of my Fathers brother Matthew or as he was affectionately known
to all Big Matt, My uncle Matt was a great guy, forever the clown but never the fool, always
laughing and joking, and playing tricks on us when we were kids, i used to love it when he came to
our house when i was a youngster because the whole house lit up with his presence, and he was
forever tickling us or telling us some funny story that would have us in stitches, his one liners
were second to none, a great guy who will be sadly missed by us all. He was married to my aunt Isa a
great wee woman whom he loved to wee bits, they had a daughter Lorraine that is truly the most
wonderful person that you could ever wish to meet, she is a cross between Big Matt and wee Isa,
funny as hell, but sensible as well, he also had two lovely grandchildren that he adored Marc and
Grant, 2 lovely boys by all accounts and a credit to their Mum Lorraine. Matt had retired for a few
years and was a keen gardener a hobby he took great pride in, he also done the odd wee job in
Ralston and other affluent areas just for a couple of quid or beer vouchers as he would call them
haha, he was a great swimmer and enjoyed his days at the swimming pool and it was on one of these
trips to the baths that he slipped and banged his head, he was taken to the local hospital and
diagnosed as having a "urine infection" which they said caused the dizziness and headaches, how
wrong a diagnosis this turned out to be as he was later diagnosed as having a tumour on the brain
and that was what was causing the headaches and dizziness, he was admitted to the ACCORD hospice a
few weeks later and the care and attention he was given there was absolutely brilliant what a
contrast to the R.A.H, On the 9th of December 2005 he lost the fight and died peacefully in his
sleep with his ever so loving family by his side. he was a great man and will be truly missed by us
all, friends and family alike but most of all by my aunt Isa and his daughter Lorraine who
absolutely adored him, and not forgetting Marc and Grant, whom he adored. Rest in Peace Matt we will
love you forever

♥ If we could wish upon a star ♥
♥ we would wish for you back here ♥
♥ we know you're happy where you are ♥
♥ But we miss you and want you near ♥
♥ Although we see you everyday ♥
♥ In our thoughts and in our dreams ♥
♥ we miss you more than words can say ♥
♥ It just gets worse, it seems ♥
♥ we try to be strong for others around ♥
♥ But all we want to do is cry ♥
♥ we just sit for hours by ourselves ♥
♥ And ask the question 'Why'? ♥
♥ It's the strongest pain we've ever felt ♥
♥ we don't think we could describe it ♥
♥ Although we try, we do our best ♥
♥ we don't think we can hide it ♥
♥ our lives will never be the same ♥
♥ That's why it's hard to bear ♥
♥ Because since the day you left us ♥
♥ we think life's so unfair ♥
♥ Some things seem not to matter now ♥
♥ Even things that mattered before ♥
♥ You have no idea what we would give up ♥
♥ To make this pain less sore ♥
♥ People say we'll meet again ♥
♥ And yeah we know that's true ♥
♥ But we wish it didn't have to be this way ♥
♥ Because you know how much we miss you ♥
♥ we love you with all our heart and soul ♥
♥ And there's one thing you need to know ♥
♥ There's not one person in the human race ♥
♥ That could ever take your place ♥

To All The Family
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, 'I welcome you.'
'It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you.... in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night....'My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.'
So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go....
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going....
you're coming here to be with me xXx
